Bloomquist Construction, Inc. is a family owned and operated business. We share a commitment to exceptional quality and ethical behavior with our employees, as well as an extensive list of top quality subcontractors and vendors with whom we work.

Bloomquist has three full-time specialized crews, each headed by an experienced and skilled lead carpenter who has been extensively trained in addressing the unique challenges of renovation, restoration, custom construction, and customer satisfaction. Most of our employees have been with us for at least six years or more, and we are fortunate to have developed a team of people who are outstanding in their fields. David and Jan feel that their personal involvement in all projects is what sets their company apart from their competition. Bloomquist takes pride in the fact that a large portion of their business is generated by repeat customers, who return based on the "superior product" provided, as well as their sense of personal attention.

To always follow the 'best professional practice' for every aspect of each job. To continue to learn and implement new and innovative procedures for the purpose of improving the delivery of our service. To demand the same high standards from subcontractors and vendors and develop a solid team of professionals dedicated to providing client satisfaction exceeding their expectations and enhancing the sustainability of our work.

President/Owner of Bloomquist Construction, Inc.

David is a licensed general contractor in Georgia with over 40 years of experience in the construction business. He grew up in Sandusky, Ohio, and later moved to Cleveland, where he earned a degree in fine arts and did post graduate work in urban studies at Cleveland State University. He purchased a circa 1886 24-unit apartment building and launched a ten-year campaign of restoration. He converted the building from vacant and nearly condemned to fully restored and designated a landmark, with a tenant waiting list. David also worked with Cleveland city officials to designate the surrounding neighborhood the City's first registered landmark district, while heading a neighborhood organization actively engaged in economic revitalization. He later relocated to New York City and continued his work on fine residential renewal for eleven years. He enrolled at F.I.T. , where he studied interior design and architectural drawing with some of the City's top designers.

David and Bloomquist Construction are EPA certified by the Environmental Institute in Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting. With this certification he is properly trained in lead safe work practices.

In 1997 David and his wife, Jan, relocated to Savannah where, with its rich legacy of historic properties , both felt they had "arrived home". They established Bloomquist Construction and, initially, working one project at a time have grown the business to being listed as one of Qualified Remodeler's "Top 500" Remodelers in the country.

Vice President/Owner of Bloomquist Construction, Inc.

After graduating from business college in Cleveland, Ohio, Jan worked in a variety of fields, from merchandising and sales to catering and booking comedians. Married to her partner, David Bloomquist, the couple lived in New York for eleven years before relocating to Savannah in 1997. While living in New York, Jan worked directly under the owners of The Plaza Hotel and was involved in numerous administrative aspects of the total renovation of the hotel. Three years at Wasserstein Perella, a New York investment banking firm, provided her with additional exposure to the financial aspect of business, and combined with David's design and construction background, Bloomquist Construction, Inc. was a natural culmination of their skills. Jan handles the company financials, as well as advertising and promotion.
